Surf Life Saving RAIN MARS CARNIVAL AT SOUTH BRIGHTON
Heavy ratal and uneieaaant condition did art prvrenttira Canterbury Surf Ufe-saving Association from holding its third champtanship carnival at South Brighton yesterday. However, three events—the march past championship, the senior aen-tiMtanMOMhlp paddle board race and the junior nonehampionship paddle board race ~were Dostooned. With threechsmpionship surf carnivals now completed. Waimairi, last year's champion club, has again virtually won the Canterbury championship pennant (for tiie club with the largest aggregate of championship pointe). Although there is still one championship carnival to be held, Waimairi has a lead of 34 pointe and cannot be overtaken. Detailed pennant points after three championship carnivals are: Waimairi S 3, Sumner 23, Taylor's Mistake IS, North Beach IS. South Brighton 13, New Brighton 11.
