An attractive 23-year-old, Norwegian girt, Miss Inger Olsen, of Oslo, is one of hundreds of Scandinavian women who have made for tfhemeelves a seafaring "'mSs Oteen, who is the radio officer aboard the 5418tco, Wilhehnsen Lane motorvessel TUdor, at Lyttelton, has spent a year at sea but has only been two months aboard the Tudor, now loading wool, general and refrigerated cargo for Britain and the Cootinem. Formerly a typist, in Oslo, Miss Olsen spent a year studying to •pass her radio officer’s examination and was then appointed to her first position aboard another Wilhetawen vessel, the Tampa, which made a trip to India. There are two other women aboard the Tudor, both of whom are stewardesses. New Zeeland
girls have no similar opportunities for going to sea, but very occasionally they find emptoyrnerat as stewardesses aboard Scandinavian vessels.
The Tudor, which is commanded by Captain T. Mikaleen, of Oslo, has called at several major ports in the North Island, and is expected to leave Lyttelton about February 28 tor Bluff, to complete loading.
