Hypertension Treatment
(N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN, February 12. Since 1950 there had been considerable advances in the treatment of high bloodpressure and most of the discomforts associated with the drugs first used were things of the past, Sir Horace Smirk, director of the Wellcome Medical Research Institute, today told the B.M.A. conference.
He said research on a new drug called 467C60 had been done in Dunedin and two London hospitals. It was not yet generally available, but it presented a further advance.
