PREFABRICATED CLASSROOM

Addition At High School Because an increased roll has fully taxed accommodation, the Linwood High School is to have a prefabricated classroom next week. Advice that the school would have the extra classroom. sought late last year, was given in a letter from the Education Department received by the board of governors at its meeting last evening. The classroom is expected to be in use in a fortnight. Last year an application was made for a new block containing four classrooms. This was to replace two prefabricated rooms and also to house the expected increase in the school roll this year. The headmaster (Mr P. A. Hickling) said late last month that the roll numbered 1008, so that extra accommodation would be welcome.
