Tribute To Prince
When the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh drive around Lancaster Park after the public welcome on Saturday the band of the Canterbury Regiment will play “God Bless the Prince of Wales.” The bandmaster (Captain D. I. Williams) said yesterday the tune would be played as a tribute from the children of Christchurch present to the Queen's own children. “God Bless the Prince of Wales,” which was composed by a Welshman. Grass Fire.—A grsss fire at the comer of Eastern terrace and Waltham road was extinguished by one unit from the Sydenham station at 12.53 p.m. yesterday. There was no damage.
