Situation.—An anti-cyclone centred near the Chatham Islands is maintaining a humid northerly airstream over New Zealand. A depression near Lord Howe Island is moving south-eastwards. Forecast:— Marlborough and Nelson.—Light to moderate winds, northerlies predominating; cloudy and mild, with periods of light rain. Outlook: scattered rain. Canterbury.—Light to moderate north-easterly winds, fresh at times in exposed coastal positions; cloudy and mild, with some scattered light rain. Outlook: a few showers likely. Buller and Westland.—Light to moderate northeasterlies; cloudy and mild, with rain at times. Outlook: rain.
