DANGER TO DOORS
A FTER stopping the car to let out a passenger always make sure the door is closed pioperly before moving off. If it should open when the car is moving, do not brake suddenly, for if the door is hinged at the front edge the sudden stop may rip it off its hinges, or at least badly damage the hinges. Before leaving a garage where the oil, water or battery has been checked, always make sure the bonnet is properly closed, and after filling up with petrol make rare the attendant has replaced the filler cap properly. If a filler cap is toot buy a new one as soon as possible, and do not drive around with the filler pipe uncovered. Not only does this allow dust to get into the petrol and cause engine wear, but petrol can also slop out over paintwork and sometimes into the boot If a leaf or similar object enters the petrol tank it may easily cause a blockage and result in considerable trouble and egpenefr
