TEST-FIRING OF MISSILES.—Three surface-to-air missiles being launched simultaneously from the United States Navy’s guided-missile cruiser Albany during test-firing off the Virginia Capes. Streaking from the bow is a Talos missile, whose range exceeds 65 miles. Smaller Tartar missiles, with a 10-mile range, are launched from the sides of the vessel. The Albany was on her maiden voyage after a 4½-year conversion from a conventional heavy cruiser.
