PET DOG LOST

£3O Reward Offered

Unless their pet dog Ylppy is found soon, Mr R. N. A. Hunt and his wife, of Wellington, fear that their health may suffer. Since the dog disappeared from the interisland steamer last Friday evening, they claim they have not slept and have had only two meals. Yippy. half terrier and half collie, disappeared from a kennel in the Maori. After arriving at Lyttelton on Saturday morning, the ship was searched, but there was no trace of the dog. Mr and Mrs Hunt have been making inquiries all over Lyttelton for clues which might lead to the dog’s recovery. “I am not going to rest until I have found that dog—he means more than a baby to us,” said Mr Hunt yesterday. “My wife and I are almost in a state of collapse.” The Union Steam Ship Company has also been making strenuous efforts to recover the dog. On seven occasions the company’s staff has been called out to investigate likely leads. The Lyttelton police are also on the alert.

Mr Hunt said last evening that he was appreciative of all the efforts being made to recover Yippy. He was offering a reward of £3O for anyone finding the dog. The dog is black, with a large area of white about the throat. He wears a registered collar and answers to his name.
