Glassworks Fire
(MX. Preu Association) AUCKLAND, January 33. Fire which broke out at 11 o'clock last night destroyed a third of the factory of the Phillips and Impey glassworks at Newmarket, Auckland. The manager (Mr R. Shaw) today estimated the damage would go into “many thousands of pounds.” The cause of the Are was traced by fire brigade officials to a radio-telephone in one of three trucks parked inside the factory. A short circuit or some other defect set the truck and then the surroundings ablaie.
