LOS ANGELES RACE

Snell And Kidd May Meet (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter— Copyright) LOS ANGELES (California), January 22. The world mile recordholder, P. G. Snell, of New Zealand, will make only one appearance in the United States during the indoor (northern) winter season. He will run at the Los Angeles indoor games on February 9, the competition director (Mr Glenn Davis) said today. Last year Snell set an indoor record of 2min 6sec for the 1000 yards in the Los Angeles meeting. This year he will compete in the mile and will be out to beat the mile indoor record of United States star, J. Beatty, who ran it in 3min 58.9 sec last year. Beatty will not be running this year.

The young Canadian mid-dle-distance runner, B. Kidd, may be entered against Snell in the Los Angeles race, Kidd’s coach, Mr Fred Foot, said today, according to Canadian Press. Mr Foot said the event was not definite as Kidd, aged 19. was cutting down on the indoor track circuit this winter to concentrate on university studies.
