Half-Mile Record
(N.Z. Press Association) ItASTERTON, January 20. Hie national champion, Miss M. Chamberlain, broke her own New Zealand record for the halfmile at Queen Elisabeth Oval, Masterton, yesterday. Miss Chamberlain, running with apparent eare, sped over the distance in 2min 7.lsee. She also created a record of 2min SJtsee for SOO metres. Miss Chamberlain shot to the front from the start, easily beating her three opponents. The large erewd was thrilled by flfltae Chamberlain's ran, the outstanding perermanoe of ths first day of the Maoterton Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club’s anniversary week - end sports. The meeting will end on Monday. The times which Mbs Chamberlain had established previously are still awaiting latifiestluii. They are »min 7Jeee for the MO yards aad 3mln 7Jsee for the M 0 metres.
