Kidd “Ontario Athlete of the Year,” United Press International reported. The 19-year-rid Canadian won the award tar the second year in succession, beating 17 other athtetes representing 11 sports. Kidd won two medals flor Canada at flbe British Empiro Games in Perth taut year. Jumped Higher Than Her Height

A 15-year-oMI Papakura girl who Is Mt Jin, Jill Mitchell, jumped two indies higher than her own height on Saturday, clearing the bar at ttt (in and equalling foe Auckland record held by Mary Donaghy. A few years ago before the era of Miss Donaghy, thia height would have broken the New Zeeland open record easily. On Saturday, however, it gained Miss Mitchell second place in the senior women's handicap high jump at the Otaua open meeting. Date Agate, aged 14. Sri Mtn. jumped Mt gin and gained a win on handicap.
