Watkinson. of West Bud. a near backmarker, forced his way through a big field to take the handicap single sculls in the Rotorua Rowing Club’s Blue Lake Regatta yesterday. The weather was perfect for the day which was organised as part of the Rotorua city celebrations. Watkinson took the single sculls from D. Storey and his brother. P. Watkinson. all of West End. Sculling strongly into fourth place was the Hamilton junior. A Ruiterman. The Empire Games . gold medallist, J. R.
