Egg Laying Trial
Teams leading in egg production at the end of the eleventh month of the New Zealand Utility Poultry Club’s breeders’ laying trial were as follow:
Six-bird teams Australorps: E. G. Wood (Leeston) with 1460 eggs. White Leghorns: E. G. Wood with 1446 eggs. Any other variety: Mrs M. Garrett (Christchurch) with 1459 eggs from Rhode Island Reds. Twenty-bird teams—Australorps: W. A McClatchy (Kaiapoi) with 4247 eggs. White Leghorns: H. G. Sugden (Christchurch) with 4207 eggs. G. H. D. Lintott (Kaiapoi) had the best score for this month with a six-bird team with 129 eggs from White Leghorns and in the 20-bird team section the highest score was 393, also secured from Lintott’s White Leghorns.
