Rear-Admiral J. R Reedy, commander of the United States Navy Antarctic support force, will officially open the Otago Agricultural and Pastoral Association's show on January 30 Admiral Reedy will be in Dunedin for Festival Week beginning on January 26
Group Captain G. C. Trig,ance yesterday assumed command of the Royal New Zealand Air Force station at Ohakea in succession to Group Captain R. F Watson, who has been transferred to the Air Department. Wellington Group Captain Trigance was formerly officer commanding the R.N.ZA.F station, Woodbourne.—(PA.)

Hunt Royal Engineers, leader of New Zealand's southern field party in the Antarctic in 1960-61. hat. been awarded the Cuthbert Peek Grant of the Royal Geographical Society for 1962 The award was made “for his contribution to Anterotic survey and his qualities of leadership in the field." Wing Commander G. R Bra byn, of New Plymouth, has been appointed director of posting and personal services at R.NZAF Headquarters. Wellington, with the rank of Group Captain (PA.)
Mr J B Anderson has been appointed a member of the Orari Gorge Scenic Reserve Board. He replaces Mr R. C Smith, who has resigned.
Mr S R Cohen, public relations officer for toe Inter national Air Transport Association since 1946, has resigned to join Scandinavian Amines System, in New YorK aa assistant to the president.
