Thames left for home by ' launch and the Shackleton , troop from Whangarei sailed home in the scow. Success. 1 Three -troops from Tau- . range ’and one troop from 1 Ragtan. as well as aU the ’ Auckland scouts will leave > tomorrow in a Fairtnile.
After a night of heavy rain, the sun shone for the dosing ceremony end the scouts were abte to dry their wet camping equipment in the stiff breese. The Chief of the Naval Staff, Rear-Admiral P. Phipps, presented the JelHcoe Trident, awarded to the troop with tire highest points in seamanship, boatcraft, camping, general behaviour and teamwork to the Takitimu troop (Gisborne). Six Air Scouts from the camp at Hotoeonville attended the dosing ceremony.
