Sterling Falls

Sterling exchange funds held by the Reserve Bank fell £l.Bm to £30.9m in the week to January 9. The week before the bank's sterling funds rose £l.3<n in the first rise since late November.

Advances to the State fell £€7m to £4o.&n, while State deposits with the Reserve Bank were £l.ftn lower at £ 13.8 m. Trading bank deposits with the bank were £ 16.2 m against £B3 2m the week before.
