Ift The Southern Rhodesian Prime Minister (Mr Winston Field) said today Southern Rhodesia must strive to retain the benefits of association with Nyasaland. Mr Field, who visited Nyasaland earlier this week, was addressing the Salisbury Rotary Club. He said he disagreed with people who thought the idea of continued association between Southern and Northern Rhodesia and Nyasaland should be dropped. Mr Field said: “In the case of Nyasaland, much stress has always been laid on the
enormous benefits which have come to that country as a result of federation. “This is undeniably so, but what has not been so much publicised is the fact that association with Nyasaland also has been of greet benefit to Southern Rhodesia and still is. “Every effort should be made to retain all we can now it is publicly known Nyasaland is about to loccdc “ Mr Field said it was high time the constitution of the future federation was settled.
