The latest reckoning is that in London there are one and a half jobs to every secretary wanting one. says the “Financial Times,” commenting on the sudden change which is apparent in the secretarial market. “At the moment, the businessman is more likely than he has been for a long time to be able to find a suitable secretary. The shortage of secretaries has been acute. In recent years there have been three or four jobs for every secretary wanting one but gradually, during 1962, the gap has narrowed and in the last few months has closed up smartly.
