AUCKLAND, Dec. 16. Consistent Friendly Persuasion gained his third win from his last four starts when he outstayed a strong field in the £1025 Thames Trotting Cup at Alexandra Park on Saturday night. The Thames Trotting Cup was the first leg of the double. The second leg, the December Handicap, was won by Smoke Concert, which was one of a three-horse bracket and was a hot favourite.
