BURIED BY LANDSLIDE

Bushman’s Body Found (N Z. Press Association) TAUMARUNUI, Dec. 13. The body of James Baker, who was buried by a landslide in bush some 11 miles east of Kakahi, was recovered at 1 p.m. today, after having been located earlier in the morning. The body was found under a mass of debris in the bed of the Waihapa stream, and had lain there for the last 10 days. Mr Baker, a bushman, aged 37, was married with 11 children. Some 25 to 30 men had worked strenuously every day in the search for the body. Several tons of debris were shifted, including, logs and trees, and local firms supplied equipment.
