Farm Brings £582 An Acre

(N Z. Press Association) PALMERSTON NORTH, December 13. One hundred acres of farmland sold at a public auction in Palmerston North today at £582 an acre. The auction of the property on the western boundary of Palmerston North city attracted 75 bidders, many of whom were leading city businessmen. Bidding began at £2OO an acre and rose very rapidly to £450, and from there to £5OO. At £582 It was sold to a firm of land agents, Birnie, Coombs and Wilson, acting as agents for an undisclosed buyer. The property was sold on behalf of the trustees of the estate of M. and K. C. Kilsby.
