Opposition By Counties (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Dec. 12. Mr N. A. Rattray, president of the New Zealand Counties’ Association, said today that at a meeting of the New Zealand Counties’ . Association executive held yesterday strong opposition was ex-, pressed to the setting up of any further tier of local government by the establishment of elected regional authorities, as suggested by the Local Government Commission. The New Zealand Counties’ Association believes that there ’is a necessity for regional planning bodies to be set up among existing territorial local authorities.
