Pope Might Meet Khrushchev

(N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) VATICAN CITY, Nov. 25. Pope John might meet the Soviet Prime Minister (Mr Khrushchev) if he felt it would help world peace or the religious situation in Russia, a senior Vatican official said last week. But he did not believe such a meeting was now being arranged. He was commenting on a report that the Russian Ambassador in Rome had been in touch with the Papal Nuncio to Italy. The Milan magazine "Genie” said Mr Khrushchev might come to Italy next year to return a visit by President Gronchi in 1960.
