TOWNSWOMEN’S GUILD

Christmas Party At Somerfield When the Somerfield Townswomen’s Guild held its Christmas party, the president (Mrs F. Milne) welcomed specially - invited guests. They included the Mayor of Christchurch (Mr G. Manning) and Mrs Manning; the Dominion president of Townswomen’s Guilds (Mrs R, H. Smith), the area president (Mrs A. Thomson), and the area treasurer (Mrs K. Steinmetz). A Christmas cake, made and decorated by Mrs J. Vivian, was brought in by Father Christmas and his carol singers. The cake was cut by the guild president. A programme, presented by the singing and drama circles, included excerpts from “The Bo.v Friend,” Christmas carols, a duet, and four sketches.
