OYSTER BED SURVEY

Many Divers Go South (NX. Press Association) AUCKLAND. Nov. 25. Five Royal New Zealand Navy divers will leave Auckland by air this afternoon to carry out a survey of oyster beds in Foveaux Strait for the Marine Department. Led by Lieutenant G. A. M. Wookey, Royal Navy, the team will begin work in depths of up to 120 feet. It will use a steel frame one yard square to lift marine life from the sea bed for examination by Marine Department scientists. The work is expected to take three weeks. The members of the diving team are Petty Officers L. A. Mangos (Timaru) and L. G. Ross (Auckland), Leading Seaman R. D. Robinson • Masterton) and Able Seaman R. W. Sharp (Wellington).
