EXPORT OF TOBACCO

Order Worth £54,000 (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Nov. 20. A New Zealand tobacco firm has an order for the export to the United Kingdom of 220,0001 b of Virginia-type tobacco leaf from the Nelson Province. Announcing this the firm said the order had been obtained in competition against Britain’s traditional tobacco suppliers, the United Sates and Rhodesia. The company is confident it can meet the stringent specifications for leaf quality and export packing laid down by the British buyers. The order is worth £54,000.
