DOCTORATE AWARD
Former N.Z. Lecturer Mr J. C. Scrivener, a former senior lecturer in civil engineering at the School of Engineering, Canterbury University, has been awarded Ph.D. by the Imperial College of Science and Technology, University of London. Mr Scrivener was awarded his doctorate for advanced research work in connexion with concrete shell roof structures. Educated in Dunedin, Mr Scrivener graduated B.Sc. from the Diversity of Otago in 1951, and gained his B.E. at Canterbury University in
After his period as a senior lecturer at Canterbury University, he went to Landon on a fellowship awarded by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research.
