Man Takes Son From Hospital

A father has refused to allow his three-year-old son to return to hospital although he had a serious chest infection following a hole-in-the-heart operation. Mr Reginald Nightingale, of Peterborough. Northamptonshire, said yesterday: “I think Derwyn is better off at home with the family. He’s so much happier with his brothers and sisters and it does him good to be with them. He gets upset when he is away from the family.” Mr Nightingale said he knew the chest infection semed to be getting worse, “but if he gets through the winter I think he’ll be all right." Mr Nightingale discharged the boy from Peterborough Memorial Hospital against doctors’ advice
