TERRITORIAL EXERCISE
Hundred Officers To Attend
One hundred Territorial Army officers from all parts of the South Island will gather at Burnham Military Camp on the Week-end of October 14 for Exercise Totara—the only territorial command post exercise to be held in New Zealand during the current training year. The aim of the exercise, which is to be conducted by the 3rd Infantry Brigade Group, is to teach brigade and unit staffs battle procedure at their headquarters. It is also a preparatory theoretical exercise on which the group's practical exercise will be based for ndxt year’s annual camp, which will be attended by more than 500 territorials. Directed by the deputycommander of the 3rd Infantry Brigade Group (Colonel T. F. Hegglun). Exercise Totara is on the problem of destroying an isolated guerrilla force in terrain of a type typical in South-east Asia.
