D.C.L. SHIELD SOUGHT
The Merivale senior team had won the D.CL. Shield both this season and last but had yet to receive the trophy, said Mr D. B. Doake at a meeting of the management committee of the Canterbury Rugby Union last The club wished to present the shield to the senior captain on Saturday, but could find no trace of it. he said. The last club reputed to have had the shield was Marist. Mr S. R. Southall said Investigations had been carried out and the Marist club president had expressed a belief that the trophy was at his home. He undertook to endeavour to trace the missing shield before Saturday.
Moynihan To Lead Team Today T. H. Moynihan (University) and B. A. Watt (Christchurch) were appointed captain and vice-captain of the Canterbury team to play West Coast today by the management committee of the Canterbury Rugby Union last night. Moynihan captained the representative side in its last match, against Waikato, on Saturday. .
