33 Tries In Five Games

In winning four and drawing one of its five games . this season, the Canterbury Colts XV had scored 33 tries—3o being gained by the backs and 16 of them from set play. Mr R W. Thomas said at a meeting of the management committee of the Canterbury Rugby Union last night. The team had proved that tries could be scored in this way, he said. The players were very keen and had trained on three or four occasions a week. “The team is well worth watching It plays lively football.” agreed the chairman (Mr J. O. Hattersley).
