A DRAWING OF AN AIRCRAFT WITH SWIVEL WINGS to allow it to take off quickly. It is being developed by an American aircraft group and a Belfast (Northern Ireland) group. The aircraft has been entered in a competition for countries of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation, which wants to develop a short-take-off-and-landing transport. The wings tilt to the vertical position for lifting the plane off the ground, but once in the air hinge forward to propel the plane at high speed in the conventional manner.
