LONDON. Sept. 18. Where does Britain rank in the world of sport?
The suggestion of the “Daily Mail" sports editor is: motor racing, first; cricket and boxing, second; Rugby Union, fourth; soccer, sixth; rowing, seventh; cycling, twelfth. When women as well as men are taken Into account: equestrianism, first; golf and athletics, fourth; tennis, third swimming seventh. It Is suggested that on this count Britain emerges as the world’s fourth best all-round sports nation, giving way to the United States Russia and Australia.
