INDOOR GAMES ON MONDAY

International Teams Soccer teams representing New Zealand. England, Holland, and Scotland will take part tn a knock-out competition at Cowlee Stadium on Monday evening. Price. H Taylor. P Flynn. B. Chee. R Bruce. Holland.—J. van VHet, A. van der Looy, J. Kemp F Ouwerkerk, A. Verham. J. Ferinea. These matches will be part of the display arranged for Monday evening by the Canterbury Amateur Sports Federation. The purpose Is to raise funds to assist Canterbury competitors who are chosen in the B category for the coming Empire Games in Perth.

(N.Z. Preu Auoetation) ’ WELLINGTON, Sept. 18. An offer from the Brazilian Olaria A.C. soccer teem to tour New Zealand early next year was declined by the council of the Football Association tonight A guarantee of 18,500 dollars was asked for four games. With the possibility of a fifth. It would have been part of a tour embracing Tahiti and New Caledonia. Olaria was originally booked to come to New Zealand earlier this season, but arrangements fell through. The possibility of tours by English professional teams in 1964 or 1965 was referred to the tours’ committee for action.

Games Scheduled For Mid-Week

The large number of Soccer competition matches which remain to be played has forced the Canterbury Footboll Association to set down acme matches for mid-week. AU competitions have to be completed by the end of September. with September 29 as the last playing Saturday. The matches Involved. Western v. University, tn the CFA 100 competition, and Western v. New Brighton tn the third division. will be played In the late afternoon on Wednesday, September 26.
