Tie For Award
Two Shamrock club players, J. Callaghan (goak-keeper) and P. Flynn (full-back) have been bracketed as the Canterbury Football Association's “Sportsman of the Year.** They will hold the trophy jointly for this year. Ths trophy is awarded by newspaper writers on sportsmanship. playing ability, appearance and general conduct throughout the season. Callaghan Is a former New Zealand representative goalkeeper. He has not been available for the representative side this season. Flynn, also a former New Zealand player, has represented Canterbury and the South Island this season. Callaghan also won this trophy in 19M. Last year's winner was the Nomads and Canterbury captain. P. Rennell. The trophy will be presented to Callaghan and Flynn during the final of the International tournament at English Park on September 29.
