Winter Party’s Welcome
The new leader ard deputyleader at Scott Base. Lieu-tenari’-Colonel R. A. Tinker and Mr W. R. Logie, who on Sunday flew to. the Antarctic aboard the first plane into the continent for six months, are reported to have settled well in their new quarters. A message received in Christchurch yesterday from Scott Base said that the two men, and about 2401 b of fresh fruit and vegetables, had been well received by the winter party. When the second United States New Hercules returned to Ohrietchurdh from the Antarctic on Monday it brought about 2071 b of mail from Scott Bare tor distribution in the Dominion.
