MEAT FOR SWEDEN

N.Z. Sales Bid Invited (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept. 14. New Zealand yesterday was invited to go to Sweden to sell lamb, mutton. beef and possibly butter, but the emphasis was on the “sell.” The invitation was issued by the Swedish Minister in New Zealand, Mr O. Ripa while addressing a luncheon at the English Speaking Union.

Mr Ripa said Sweden produced rbout 80 per cent, of her own food and imported the rest. He suggested New Zealand couffi provide some “It should be quite remunerative.” he said.

Lamb was by far the most expensive meat sold in Sweden. It sold for about 4s lb wholesale and retailed about 8s to 12s.

“We would be glad to see more New Zealand salesmen come our Way and knock at the door and not fake ‘no’ for an answer. I am sure there would be room tor some of your very good products in Sweden and in other European countries,” he said.
