Canterbury One Of Leaders (N Z. Press Association) HAMILTON, August 28. Auckland and Canterbury lead after two series of matches in the annual schoolboys’ Rugby League tournament at Huntly. * After its big win against Waikato in the first series, Auckland found Wellington more difficult, but by superior team understanding and better ball distribution, added points in the second half to run out the victors. 24-6 Canterbury beat the only other South Island team in the tournament West Coast, 10-3. Waikato scored its first win by beating Bay of Plenty by one point. 10-9 Points after two series are:— Auckland and Canterbury 4. Bay of Plenty and Waikato 2. West Coast and Wellington 0
Organ Pipe Replacement.— The replacing of about 130 organ pipes, valued at £5OO. which were stolen from chu-rohe-s throughout the South Island has begun. The oipes were found in a Christchurch garage. Mr J Strachan, an organ tuner, will restore most of the pipes Some of them have been ! painted in grey enamel and -ome silver, and the appearance of many has been altered, with names and notes being scotched off and others put on
