Explanation Of Action (N Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, August 27 The International Amateur Athletics Federation takes “the strongest possible stand against discrimination,’’ the British secretary of this world-governing body for the sport, Mr Donald Pain, said tonight. Mr Pain and the British president. the Marquis of Exeter, issued a statement explaining why the lAAF refused Indonesia a licence to call its current meeting the Asian Games “Both Taiwan and Israel reported to us that entry forms they requested for their teams had been withheld by Indonesia.” the statement said It said it was first requirec jf a host country to ensure that ill eligible countries were invited and that entry visas were available for all competitors and officials M , Because of the present clear breach.” its official observer was 'regretfully impelled” to withdraw the licence for the athletics section, the federation said, adding that a licence for an ordinary international sports event had been substituted to avoid disappointing the many teams.
