Walker Claims Much Enthusiasm For His Case

VANCOUVER, Aug. 28. A tour of Commonwealth countries to promote opposition to Britain joining the Common Market had brought enthusiastic response, a British Conservative Member of Parliament said today. The Associated Press reported that Mr Peter Walker, one of the leaders of the Conservative members of Parliament opposing British membership in the E.E.C.. said on his arrival from New Zealand yesterday: “The trip has been tremendously successful.
“It has been far better than I could have hoped for. My meetings have been packed to the doors. The people have been very enthusiastic about our approach.” Mr Walker has visited India. Australia. New Zealand and Singapore, seeking details of the anxieties of Commonwealth countries over Britain's possible entry into the E EC. and expounding his group's case and economic suggestions for expanding trade within the Commonwealth. He will return to Lor don on Sunday.
