Athletics 100-YD AND 100-METRE
Jerome Shares Records (NZ. Press Assn —Copyright) VANCOUVER August 25 The Vancouver sprinter, H Jerome. is the first man in history to share both the world s 100-yard and 100-metre records. The 22-year-old University of Oregon student equalled the world mark of 9.2 seconds for ’OO yards at a track competition on Saturday. The time matched the record set in 19S1 by F Budd of Villanova University and later equalled by R Haves of Texas Univers-ity. Jerome shares the world 100metre mark of 10 seconds with X. Hary. of Germany Hary has -e tired since he set the mark in 1960. Canadian Press reported
