MELBOURNE August 24. The New Zealand-bred champion, Lord, is favoured for the J. J. Liston Stakes (seven furlongs) at Flemington The big New Zealand hope for the Melbourne Cup and Caulfield Cups Quite Able, is in the sixth line of favouritism.

Anonyme Is two times and a half more popular than the second favourite Acouinita In the betting, with Lord and My Peak the only others of the 17 acceptors under double figure quotes.
Lord starts from No. 10 stall with the apprentice. P. Hyland, up Quite Able will start from No. 15 with the iockev. L. Moir, up There are 15 starters tn the Liston Stakes—which is standard weigh t-for-aee—with two emergencies. Havelock and Prince Dahomev.
