FORESTRY STUDY AT OXFORD
Rangiora Student's
Award
Mr D. A. Field, a former pupil of the Rangiora High School, will sail for the United Kingdom on Tuesday for post-graduate studies at Oxford University under sponsorship of the New Zealand Forest Service. He is one -f three Victoria University graduates going overseas under this scheme The others are Mr D. J Mead, who will go to Edinburgh University, and Mr P. K. Diggle, who will go to the University of British Columbia in Canada. Each of these men entered the Forest Service as a technical trainee in 1957 and each took a bachelor of science degree last year. Mr Field’s father, Mr Alex Field, is a senior ranger at the Ashley State Forest, and a brother, Mr G. E. Field, is a ranger at the Dip Flat Forest station in Nelson.
