Banned From Chamber

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, August 22. The Wellington City Council has banned one of Wellington's leading theatrical groups, Unity Theatre, from the concert chamber. It is said that the condition of the concert chamber after a rehearsal for the play “The Lower Depths," gave rise to the banning. The action of the play takes place in the basement of a lodging house in a Russian seaport. In the play the cellar appeared as a dirty, grim place.
