Westport Club Loses £269
(From Our Own Reporter) WESTPORT. August 21 Even after receiving £3169 from the Totalisator Agency Board, the Westport Jockey Club lost £269 last year, according to the report to oe presented to the annual meeting on August 30 by the president (Mr J C. Craig) However, he regarded the position as very satisfactory as the club had reintroduced the travelling allowance for visiting horses and the maintenance and repair bill had increased by £3OO The report said that, after paying its share of the cost of bringing the starting gates to the West Coart, additions to the judge's box and the purchase of new equipment, the club had £1759 to its credit in the i per cent levy fund. Mr Craig said the starting gates had proved most successful
