NEW TARIFF BOARD

Salaries Of Members (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, August 21. The salaries being paid to members of the Tariff and Development Board were announced in the House of Representatives today by the Minister of Overseas Trade (Mr Marshall). He had been questioned about them during discussion on the vote for the Industries and Commerce Department by Mr A. H. Nordmeyer (Opposition, Island Bay). The figures are: Mr C. S. Hogg (chairman), £2500 (part-time). Messrs J. P. D Johnsen .£3250 (full-time) and K. B. O’Brien (£3OOO (full-time).

Three part-time members, Messrs C. G. Trotter, J. S. Robbie and B. E. Rudman, were‘paid at the rate of £lO 10s a day, said Mr Marshall. “That is the usual arrangement,” said Mr Marshall. “We are very fortunate to get people like these.”
