Part Of Square To Be Closed
The triangle in Cathedral square in front of the United Service Hotel will be dosed to traffic one hour before the arrival and departure of the King and Queen of Thailand. The taxi stand will be closed for a similar period. Businesses in that section of the Square will remain open. The Royal couple will arrive at the hotel at 5.45 p.m. tomorrow. At noon the next day they will leave for the municipal chambers. They will return to the hotel during the afternoon.
At 3.15 p.m. King Bhumibol will leave for the Industries Fair and five minutes later Queen Sirikit will leave for the North Canterbury Centre of the New Zealand Red Cross Society.
At 8.15 p.m. they will leave the hotel for the Civic Theatre to attend the royal concert by the National Orchestra. Their Majesties will depart from the hotel at 10 a.jn. on Saturday, August 25, for the Christchurch airport. ,
