Stones Cannot Be Found
(Neu, Zealand Press Association)
NEW PLYMOUTH, Aug. 16. Two stones have Wanganui and New Plymouth scouts worried. They cannot be found. Three visits to the New Zealand Railways Road Services bus depot at New Plymouth, a toll call to Wanganui and an urgent telegram failed to shed any light on the problem except to establish they were put on the 12.45 p.m. bus for New Plymouth today and there is an Ss receipt to prove it. The stones weigh 91b and 161 b respectively and were on their way to
Tauranga from Christchurch to be used in the Tauranga winter Highland games thia month for putting the shot. They left Christchurch several days ago and after being exhibited at Wellington and Wanganui were due at New Plymouth today, where they were to be placed in a shop window before departing for Tauranga by way of Hamilton on Saturday. The New Zealand Boy Scouts’ Association was asked to undertake their transportation through the various centres and all went well until today.
